Can today be over, please? I've had way too much exposure to bodily fluids.
Hmmm...where to start? I guess I'll start around 1am when Marie woke up and decided she was not going to be happy anywhere but on top of me. Ok...not really a big deal except I kept trying to put her back and she kept resisting which made for not so much sleep for me. I think next time I'll just give in and let her stay from the start! Then, during one of my more awake trying to put the baby back in her spot times, Jon says that the girls have been up since 4am! It was about 4:30. The day never starts off well if people are up at 4am. So, I put the girls in the baby beds and went back to bed so I could then oversleep until 7am and then only have 30min to get all 4 kids, up, dressed, and fed so we could get X to school on time!
-Off topic, but this really bugs me. So, Xander's school has a traffic/crossing guard outside in the mornings. People can drop their kids off between about 7 and 7:55 and not be late. We are usually driving in around 7:35/7:40 and the traffic is very light. When we are late and pulling in between 7:45-7:55 the traffic is extremely heavy! So- why does the crossing guard go off duty every day at 7:45- 10 min before school starts!! Just when we need her, she packs up and leaves!---
Ok, back to my day. After we drop X off, I get the girls ready for a birthday party we were going to. Greta didn't eat any dinner, so she is very hungry and keeps asking for food. I keep giving her food (bananas, cheese, strawberries, nothing bad) and then eventually we get on the road only 15 min later than I planned. Not too bad. My new GPS is working wonderfully and I make excellent time and show up right on time. The day is looking better. It was looking better, until I looked in the rear view mirror and saw Greta vomiting all over the place!! Because of an unfortunate recent pee in the parking lot incident, I have no spare clothes and my friends don't have any either. Greta and my car are now nasty! Eventually I get Greta reasonably clean and put her coat on her instead of a shirt and we go in. It is a very cool fire station tour but none of my girls are willing to cooperate in the least. I keep trying to sneak away to clean up the car some more but they are hanging on my legs like leaches. So, we stay for the entire tour and while all the other kids are happy and into it, mine stay attached to my legs and will not even try to have a good time. Marie, on the other hand, was very happy at first and decided to coo at the firemen! Towards the end of the tour, Marie gets tired and starts screaming, so when it is over, I clean out Greta's seat, and we skip cake and ice cream at the playground and just go home.
The girls go directly to bed (crib and pack n play) when we get home and I try to chill out. Then I hear Grace screaming she has to go potty. I go up there but I'm too late. She has pooped in her crib and it is a mess. Great. I get to clean up a big stinky poop and puke mess all in the same day!
Then, X gets home from school and we head out to taekwondo. I forgot his belt on testing day which was totally my fault this time because I told Xander I was getting it. Luckily, Master Chang let him test anyway. We always sit outside the taekwondo studio because the girls are too restless to stay for class. The girls were actually behaving and I'm talking to another mom when I heard what sounds like a gunshot. It wasn't a gunshot, it was Grace flipping over in the plastic chair next to me and hitting the concrete! Ahh...puke, poop, and now blood! She manages to only end up scraping one hand pretty badly and a little on her knee but there's enough blood, tears, and screams, to freak out everyone around us including Grace. I had to pass Marie off to some strange Dad while I dealt with Grace and another mom insisted on bringing an ice pack from a neighboring restaurant over for Grace. Grace was not happy about the ice pack and spent the next hour crying. We'll know tomorrow how bad her hand is. I can't tell yet if it is just scraped or if it will also be bruised or possibly sprained.
I'm tired now! In case you are wondering, Greta is not sick. She just puked because she tends to do that if she goes too long without eating and then eats too much.
