Meet Eddie Haskel

Today we met Xander's first grade teacher. She seems like a very nice and intelligent lady with a lot of experience and I'm hoping we'll have a good year. For a while now, we've been preparing Xander that he'll be going back to school soon and he has been very unenthusiastic about it. He will tell everyone he doesn't want to go and doesn't like school. So, tonight, his teacher asked him something like, "Are you looking forward to coming back to school on Monday?" I held me breath, afraid he would say something about how he hates school and hoped it would burn down before Monday. But, my little Eddie Haskel, future politician, says in his best teacher's pet voice, "Yes, I am looking forward to coming back and learning about all the new things you will teach us." I don't know who was more shocked- me or the teacher!

heh heh heh...OH!! SO Reminds me of how you two were!! You might consider a discussion on what we tell people in public should be somewhat similar to what we confess to our family in private, but that might open up another whole can of worms! But...when is it a case of ethics versus just growing boy's shenanigans?? Does he REALLY Love school OR Does he REALLY wish all the schools in the world would burn before he has to go back to one of them?? Maybe the real answer is BOTH! Then...he would be like me...scary thought! LOL
